Our “poem” in the New York Times
December 1999.
I wrote this “poem” with JP consisting solely of movie spoilers after going to a press screening of The Green Mile where we were instructed not to give away the wonderful ending (which I’ve long forgotten — that’s how, um, wonderful it was).
The New York Times changed our title from “Spoilers” to “Oh, You Haven’t Seen It? Sorry About That” and published it on January 23, 2000, on the front page of the Arts & Leisure section.
We received many, many letters from people who thought it was some kind of movie quiz and sent us the “answers” (names of movies referred to), hoping for praise. We gave it to them.
